We are breaking down the barriers that keep powerful tools from being combined in ways that solve big problems in healthcare.
By allowing formerly discrete technologies to work together at scale, we facilitate the creation of innovative solutions that address critical healthcare issues. For example, scalable biometric identification, combined with validated tracking of blood samples and test results enables the longitudinal tracking of HIV and TB treatment plans. We can improve the quality of healthcare, while reducing the costs and inefficiencies of retesting.
HOW WE WORK
DHI is developing reusable software Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and data standards to enable integrators worldwide to integrate, test, deploy, refine, support and re-use innovative and highly scalable healthcare systems for their local populations without having to develop specialized component capabilities themselves. The goal is to enable disruptive solutions for global healthcare, much in the same way that Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other software-as-a-service capabilities have enabled disruptive solutions in other industries.

Our goal is to align technology with the needs of global health, whether delivered by the public or private sectors. We are building open-source, practical data standards and elemental Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that any solution provider can access and use.
